About Reddart

Pauline has been involved in arts and crafts for over 15 years, as an artist, tutor, youth worker and craftsperson. Graduating in Fine and Applied Arts in 2001 from the University of Ulster, Belfast, she also has qualifications in youth work, teaching, facilitation and training. Specialising in  printmaking, jewellery and photography during her time on foundation and degree courses, Pauline now focuses primarily on making jewellery incorporating a wide range of materials such as sterling silver, felt, glass, resin, wire and found objects. Work has previously been exhibited at wedding fairs, craft fairs and shops throughout Northern Ireland.
Of her work, Pauline states ‘I enjoy developing pieces that combine unusual combinations of textures and materials to create pieces that visually stimulate, are quirky and unique, interesting to wear, with colour and movement in them. I like to create work that is a tactile, sensory experience for the wearer; to feel the weight, touch the variety of materials or hear the sound of different surfaces moving against each other.’

Teaching and Training experience includes working for several local councils, arts organisations, education and library boards, community groups and special needs groups. This work carried out in schools, art centres and many other venues across Northern Ireland has involved teaching jewellery making and the creation of large scale pieces using textiles, mosaic and mixed media. As a youth co-ordinator/facilitator Pauline has written several training programmes and publications for the youth arts sector. Pauline is originally from Aberdeen but now lives in Belfast.
